TalentScript Career Branding Agency (“TalentScript”, “we” or “us”) is a career branding agency founded in 2016. We write executive resumes, LinkedIn profiles, biographies and other career documents, build executive portfolio websites, and offer Career Access support. We are the organization that decides how and why your personal data is used, which the law calls the data controller.

Our executive career specialists work remotely, serving clients across North America, South America, Europe and Africa. This policy applies to this website and to the services we deliver through it and by email and video call.

We collect only what we need, and mostly what you choose to send us.

When you use the contact form, we collect your full name, email address, current career level, the service you are interested in, your target role or industry, and the message you write. If you email or call us instead, we collect the details you share in that message or conversation.

When you join our newsletter, we collect your email address.

When you visit the website, your browser sends us the usual technical information any website receives, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, and our hosting provider keeps routine server records. If you allow Analytics in our cookie settings, an analytics tool may also collect information about how you use the pages. See the cookies section below.

When you become a client, we collect what we need to do the work: your current and past resumes, your career history, employers, roles, achievements, education and credentials, the content of your LinkedIn profile or a link to it, your career goals and target roles, and your feedback on drafts. We also keep records of our agreement and payment with you. You do not need to send sensitive information such as government ID numbers, bank details or health information, and we ask that you do not.

We use personal data for the purposes below. For visitors in the European Union and the United Kingdom, the legal basis for each purpose is shown alongside it.

• To reply to your enquiry and arrange a consultation. Legal basis: steps taken at your request before an agreement, and our legitimate interest in answering people who contact us.
• To deliver the services you engage us for, take payment and keep records. Legal basis: performing our agreement with you, and meeting our legal and accounting obligations.
• To send our newsletter. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by emailing us at any time.
• To understand how the website is used and improve it. Legal basis: your consent, given through the Analytics choice in our cookie settings.
• To measure and improve our outreach. Legal basis: your consent, given through the Marketing choice in our cookie settings.
• To keep the website secure, prevent misuse and protect our legal rights. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a safe service.

We do not use your personal data to make decisions about you by automated means that have legal or similarly significant effects.

Client documents and personal data are kept only as long as needed to deliver the service and meet legal obligations. Once those needs end, we delete the data or remove the details that identify you.

• Contact form and email enquiries: kept while we deal with your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterward in case you follow up.
• Newsletter addresses: kept until you unsubscribe.
• Client files and career information: kept while we deliver your service, and afterward only as long as we need them to support you with the work we delivered or to meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.
• Payment and agreement records: kept for as long as the law requires.
• Your cookie choice: kept in your browser until you clear it or change it.

You may ask us to delete your data at any time by emailing [email protected]. We will confirm what we have deleted. We may keep a limited record where the law requires it, for example an invoice, and we will tell you if so.

We never sell personal data. We share it only with the people and services that help us run TalentScript, and only as far as they need it:

• Our form provider, Web3Forms, a third-party service that receives the messages and newsletter sign-ups sent through this website.
• Our email provider, which carries our email, including messages to and from you and our newsletter.
• Our hosting provider, which serves this website. It currently runs on Cloudflare Pages.
• Advisers and authorities, such as accountants or legal advisers, and public authorities where the law requires us to disclose information.

These providers may only use personal data to provide their service to us. If our Career Access support involves introducing you to a recruiter, employer or industry contact, we share your details with them only when you ask us to or agree to it first.

When you first visit, a banner asks for your choice. You can choose Accept all, Reject all or Customise. Nothing that is not strictly necessary loads, and no tracking runs, until you say yes. There are three categories:

• Strictly necessary is always on. It keeps the site working and remembers your cookie choice, which we save in your browser's local storage under the name “talentscript-cookie-consent”. It is not used to track you.
• Analytics is off unless you allow it. It helps us see, without naming you, which pages visitors use. We may use Google Analytics, which sets cookies such as “_ga”, typically for up to two years, and receives technical data such as your IP address. It loads only after you allow Analytics, and if you later switch it off we stop collecting and remove those cookies.
• Marketing is off unless you allow it. It would let us measure our outreach and show relevant TalentScript messages elsewhere. It loads only after you allow Marketing.

Your choice is remembered in your browser, so the banner does not appear again unless you clear your browser data. You can change your mind at any time using Cookie settings here or in the footer of every page. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, although some parts of any website may then work less well.

If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom (GDPR and UK GDPR), you have the right to:

• be told whether we hold your data and to receive a copy (access);
• have inaccurate data corrected (rectification);
• have your data deleted (erasure);
• ask us to limit how we use it (restriction);
• receive the data you gave us in a portable format (portability);
• object to uses based on our legitimate interests;
• withdraw consent at any time, without affecting what we did before you withdrew it.

You may also complain to your local data protection authority, such as the Information Commissioner's Office in the United Kingdom. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.

If you are a California resident (CCPA and CPRA), you have the right to know what personal information we collect, use and disclose, to ask us to delete or correct it, to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, and to not be treated differently for using these rights. Over the past twelve months we have collected identifiers such as your name and email, professional and education information you gave us, and technical information about your visit. We do not sell personal information. If we ever use marketing tools that share information for advertising across sites, they load only if you allow Marketing, and you can switch them off in cookie settings.

Nigeria. As an organization based in Nigeria, we are also subject to the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, which gives you similar rights, including the right to complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

How to use your rights. Email [email protected] and tell us what you would like. We may ask you to confirm your identity before acting, to protect your data from anyone pretending to be you. An authorized agent may make a request for you with your written permission. We respond within one month, or within 45 days for California requests, and we will tell you if we need longer. There is no charge unless a request is clearly excessive.

Yes, it can be. TalentScript is headquartered in Nigeria and has an office in the United States, and our team works remotely with clients in North America, South America, Europe and Africa. Your data may therefore be handled in Nigeria and the United States, and our form, email and hosting providers may process it in other countries where they operate.

Where the law requires a safeguard for a transfer out of the European Union or the United Kingdom, such as the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission and the UK addendum, we rely on it. You can email [email protected] to ask how your data is protected when it is transferred.

No. Our services are for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, please email [email protected] and we will delete it.

We keep client files out of the public website, limit access to the people who need them to do the work, and use secure (HTTPS) connections on this website. We choose providers that take security seriously. No method of sending or storing data is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you share.

If a breach of personal data puts your rights at risk, we will tell you and the relevant authority as the law requires.

When we change this policy, we update the date at the top of the page. If a change is material, for example a new way of using your data, we will place a notice on the website and, if we have your email address as a client or subscriber, tell you directly. Please check this page from time to time.
